Miles Austin

Miles Austin

ESPN sports columnist Bill SimmonsThe Sports Guybrought up this idea one time and I think it's one whose time has seriously come. That idea is fantasy celebrity news. You draft celebs like Anna Chapman and then earn points based on their embarrassing public gaffes.

You'd end up with "Two Sport Stars" such as Miles Austin and Michael Vick who make news both on the field and off. But if you'd ever wanted to see Lamar Odom and Miles Austin on the same team, here's your chanceand I don't just mean in terms of being the beaus of Kardashian sisters.

It's a particularly brutal sport but then what worthwhile sport isn't? Amy Locane came off the bench this week to commit vehicular manslaughter. What a win for those who had her on their fantasy celebrity team!

Your team is really racking up the pointsMichael Vick involved in a shooting? Two points. Miley Cyrus scored you five points each crotch shot this past week while Miles Austin scored ten points by getting a new girlfriend. Plus bonus points for landing a Kardashian! Does that hurt Reggie Bush's value?

There's even easily identifiable positions. You'd need three politicians, two actors, two musical artists, and four pro athletes on your starting squad. If someone moonlights in other categories, that's cool, they can fit in either slot. That way you can start recording Artist Ron Artest and Laker teammate Kobe Bryant on your squad at the same time!

The only issue I see is determining a season. It's hard to say what the celebrity Super Bowl isthe Oscars, the MTV Music Awards? The Super Bowl? I'm going to go with that one event that never fails to marry sports, celebrity, and public relations gaffes all into one fun filled weekendthe NBA All Star Game! Who's with me?
