Myanmar women footballers

YANGON, Oct. 22 (Xinhua) -- Myanmar women's football team is training hard in order to win the tournament title at the coming 27th SEA Games to be hosted by Myanmar in December, official media reported Tuesday.

Myanmar women's football team has fine traditions not only in ASEAN but also in other international tournaments, said the New Light of Myanmar.

The team is striving for maintaining the traditions with the concerted efforts of officials from the Sports Ministry, coaches, managers and athletes.

The women's football tournament will be held at Mandalar Thiri Sports Ground in Mandalay from Dec.9 to 21.
SAO PAULO, Oct. 28 (Xinhua) -- Buses carrying Santos and Corinthians players were pelted with rocks and aluminum cans as Brazilian football was tarnished by fresh waves of violence at the weekend.
The incident occurred as the teams arrived for Sunday's Campeonato Brasileiro match at the Pacaembu stadium, which ended in a 1-1 draw.
It came a day after Brazil's Superior Sports Justice Tribunal (STJD) called for a national debate to curb increasing violence among fans.
